In less than a year, on April 12, 2022, Microsoft will end support for some versions of the Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP solution.
To date, the manufacturer has announced the end of the aid Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Dynamics AX 2012, and Dynamics AX 2012 R2. The end of support for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, the youngest version, has been delayed until January 10, 2023.
Because the manufacturer realizes that many users face a very crucial decision whether to migrate to the cloud at Microsoft Dynamics 365 or whether to stick with the on-premise solution AX comes with the revolutionary D365 Migration Program to make your decision easier.
Those who register for the Migration Program will receive an indicative plan in three steps, according to which it will be much easier to decide on an investment and determine the extent of its benefits.
In addition, if registered companies implement the plan, Microsoft has prepared special benefits for them.
You will get a description of the status of your business and what migration to the cloud would entail.
Consultants will conduct an interview survey, the result of which will be a price comparison of your current on-premise solution and cloud solution. License prices, development and training costs are only a fraction of what the analysis will contain. The comparison will also include the costs of data storage, servers and HW maintenance, platform support and maintenance costs, post-incident revitalization, mobile application support costs, and administrative costs imposed by legislation.
In the second step, consultants will analyze what your greatest potential is, and in which areas your company can improve further.

There can be no doubt that the pandemic across the world has accelerated the pace of digitization. Since they had little choice, even hardened opponents are already online. We find that it is possible to teach online, to establish new business relationships, to manage a business. However, not everyone is enthusiastic about the trend. Many still view the online world as dangerous, impersonal and ungovernable.
A similar discussion has been going on for years on the subject of cloud services.
At the time of quarantines and incapacity, management members began to realize that direct dependence on IT managers taking care of data in their own server rooms is not entirely healthy. They find that getting to reports of vast amounts of data with just a few clicks on a mobile phone would be very enjoyable. They figure out that the server room could be occupied by workers who work to develop their own products and services or bring additional added value to the company. Internal IT managers and administrators could work on their own development projects, as compliance with security guidelines and legislation would be delegated to the data center provider and application manufacturer.
Let us recall what Internet banking services looked like five years ago and what they look like today. Thanks to data warehouses in data centers, machine learning technology and artificial intelligence, we have accurate data on our income and expenses on two handles with double verification. Instead of a card, we pay with the phone that we have with us all the time, from anywhere, anytime and securely.
The same goes for companies. Senior management needs to be prepared for the fact that sooner or later they will have to decide whether to keep on-premise solutions or migrate to the cloud. It should also be remembered that an on-premise solution may be suitable for some businesses, but as such, it will carry higher costs and less flexibility. It is believed that Almost every medium or large enterprise will go to the cloud within five years at least partly, through hybrid solutions.
Switching to cloud services will cost something, it's not worth pretending otherwise. Therefore, it is important to take care of the preparation of the entire process. To begin with a detailed analysis of the current cost of on-premise operation and subsequent cloud costs, consider the risks that data on the network carries with it. Define the expectations that you promise from the migration to cloud management and evaluate whether the migration project will actually meet them. And what is very important, find competent and trustworthy partners who, with their own experience and responsibility, can handle project migration.
At Blue Dynamic we have been dealing with data migration since the very beginning of the company's existence. We have worked on large projects in the Czech Republic and abroad.
We are currently preparing to end support for Microsoft's flagship ERP system Axapta, which is scheduled by the manufacturer for April 12, 2022. On the same date, CRM support, which we also have in our portfolio, should end.
We are aware that the decision to migrate from AX to the Microsoft Dynamics 365 cloud environment will not be easy for business management. While the pandemic has affected their budgets, the time of long-term virus threat may also have brought with it more of a subconscious fear of risks that comes into consideration in the context of the cloud.
But we know that moving to the cloud makes sense because it offers clients a huge number of benefits — from scalability, to clear real-time reporting anytime, anywhere, to integration with other online systems, to holding security standards through manufacturer obligations.
In addition, Microsoft has decided to support Axapta users and comes with the Migration Program. Any company that uses AX can register for it and can get a FREE analysis from the manufacturer, the output of which will be the MIGRATION PLAN. This will make it easier to decide whether to keep an on-premise solution or migrate to the cloud.
Blue Dynamic is Microsoft's Silver partner, which will put you on the imaginary starting line of the Microsoft Dynamics AX migration path, launch it and safely lead you to your destination - Microsoft D365 - cloud.
