In less than a year, on April 12, 2022, Microsoft will discontinue support for certain versions of Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP solutions.
To date, the manufacturer has announced the end of support Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Dynamics AX 2012 and Dynamics AX 2012 R2. The end of support for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, the youngest version, has been postponed until 10 January 2023.
Because the manufacturer recognizes that many users are facing a critical decision about whether to migrate to the cloud on Microsoft Dynamics 365 or whether to stick with an on-premise AX solution, the revolutionary D365 Migration Program makes the decision easier.
What do clients gain by joining the Migration Programme?
Those who sign up for the Migration Programme will receive an indicative plan in three steps, which will make it much easier to make decisions about the investment and determine the extent of its benefits.
In addition, if registered companies implement the plan, Microsoft has prepared special benefits for them.
What is the result of joining the Programme?
You will get a description of the state your company is in and what a migration to the cloud would entail.
Help Microsoft get to know you in three steps
The first step
The consultants will conduct an interview survey that will result in a price comparison of your current on-premise solution and a cloud solution. Licensing prices, development and training costs are just a fraction of what the analysis will include. The comparison will also include the cost of data storage, servers and HW care, platform support and maintenance costs, revitalisation after incidents, mobile application support costs and expenses related to mandatory administration imposed by legislation.
The second step
In the second step, the consultants will analyse where your greatest potential lies and in which areas your company can further improve.
The advantages of the cloud are undoubtedly:
- real-time data available in the office and in the field via mobile device
- Scalability and flexibility (removing and adding licenses is a matter of minutes)
- time savings for staff responsible for compliance with standards, regulations and guidelines
- visually unified environment Microsoft D365 is part of the extensive Microsoft ecosystem
- compatibility with all other Microsoft applications
Third step
In the third step, you will get recommendations on how to proceed if you conclude that migrating to Microsoft Dynamics 365 is the right choice.
You will get FREE support to get you on your Cloud Migration journey with relevant data and qualified partners.
Blue Dynamic - Your navigation on the road Migration... to the cloud
There can be no doubt that the pandemic across the world has accelerated the pace of digitalisation. Because they had little choice, there are already die-hard opponents online. We're finding that online is the way to teach, to forge new business relationships, to run a business. But not everyone is enthusiastic about this trend. Many still see the online world as dangerous, impersonal and unmanaged.
A similar discussion has been going on for many years on the topic of cloud services.
Members of management began to realise, in a time of quarantines and disability, that direct dependence on IT managers taking care of data in their own server rooms is not entirely healthy. They are finding that getting reports on huge amounts of data with just a few clicks on a mobile phone would be very nice. They figure that the server room could be staffed by people who are working on developing their own products and services or adding value to the company. Internal IT managers and administrators could work on their own development projects, as compliance with security guidelines and legislation would be delegated to the data centre provider and application vendors.
Let's remember what online banking services looked like five years ago and what they look like today. Thanks to data warehouses in data centres, machine learning technology and artificial intelligence, we have accurate data on our income and expenses at the click of a button with double verification, and instead of a card, we pay with the phone we always carry, all from anywhere, anytime and securely.
The same applies to companies. There is a need for senior management to prepare for the fact that sooner or later they will be faced with the decision of whether to keep an on-premise solution or migrate to the cloud. It also needs to be understood that while an on-premise solution may be suitable for some businesses, as such it will entail higher costs and less flexibility. It is assumed that almost every medium or large enterprise will go the cloud route within five years at least partly, through hybrid solutions.
Moving to cloud services will cost something, there is no point in telling yourself otherwise. It is therefore important to take care to prepare for the entire process. Start with a detailed analysis of the current costs of on-premise operations and the subsequent costs of the cloud, and consider the risks that data on the network entails. Define the expectations you have of moving to cloud management and evaluate whether the migration project will actually deliver on them. Most importantly, find competent and trustworthy partners who can handle the migration project with experience and responsibility.
At Blue Dynamic, we have been involved in data migration since the very beginning of the company's existence. We have worked on large-scale projects in the Czech Republic and abroad.
We are currently preparing for the end of support for the flagship ERP system Microsoft Axapta, which is scheduled by the manufacturer for April 12, 2022.
We understand that the decision to migrate from AX to the Microsoft Dynamics 365 cloud environment will not be an easy one for business management. The pandemic has affected their budgets, and the period of long-term virus exposure may have also brought with it more subconscious fear of the risks that come with the cloud.
But we know that moving to the cloud makes sense because it offers clients a huge number of benefits - from scalability, to real-time, anytime, anywhere reporting, integration with other online systems, to adherence to security standards through vendor obligations.
In addition, Microsoft has decided to support Axapta users and comes with the Migration Program. Every company that uses AX can register for it and can get a FREE analysis from the manufacturer, which will result in a MIGRATION PLAN. This will make it easier to decide whether to keep the on-premise solution or migrate to the cloud.
Blue Dynamic is a Microsoft Silver Partner that will stand with you at the starting line of the Microsoft Dynamics AX migration journey, start it and safely lead you to the destination - Microsoft D365 - cloud.
